Cody's school gets to take the fourth graders on a special field trip every year. They get to go to Sutter's fort for an overnight field trip. It is all in full costume and is quite an event. I volunteered this year to be an adult helper and got to spend the night as well. Each child had to do a report on an actual settler that was at the fort. Then they play that character when they go there. Cody was Caleb Greenwood, the cool thing was that Caleb was an actual ancestor of Cody.
It was very fun, but was very hard work. They had story tellers and singers and the kids danced and had a lot of fun.
